Sergeant Major Robinson enlisted in the Marine Corps from the state of New Jersey in August of 1985 and completed Boot Camp with the 2nd Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina. He was subsequently transferred to NAS Meridian, Mississippi, where he earned the primary MOS of 6046, Aircraft Maintenance Admin Clerk. Upon completion of MOS school, he was issued orders to HMM-266 in MCAS New River, North Carolina where he completed his first tour in the Fleet Marine Force. In early 1988, Sergeant Major Robinson transferred to MTACS-28 at MCAS New River. In 1989, Sergeant Major Robinson was issued orders to MAG-42 at NAS Cecil Field, Florida. In 1991, Sergeant Major Robinson completed Drill Instructor School at MCRD Parris Island and was assigned as a Drill Instructor with the 2nd Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment. Upon completion of a successful tour on the drill field in 1994, Sergeant Major Robinson transferred to MCAS El Toro, California, for duty with MWHS-3, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing. In 1997, Sergeant Major Robinson was assigned to MWHS-1 in Okinawa, Japan, and completed his tour in 1998. In 1998, Sergeant Major Robinson was assigned as a Sergeant Instructor at Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Quantico, Virginia, for the spring and summer cycles. Following his time at OCS, he was transferred to HMX-1 for duty until 2001. In the late spring of 2001, Sergeant Major Robinson was assigned to Golf Company at OCS. While at OCS, he served as the Platoon Sergeant, Company Gunnery Sergeant, and in several instructor billets. Upon completion of a second successful tour on the drill field in 2004, Sergeant Major Robinson transferred to 2d Maintenance Battalion in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, for duty as a First Sergeant. In 2006, Sergeant Major Robinson was issued orders to 2d Supply Battalion in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to serve as a First Sergeant.

Military Biography:

Lieutenant Commander Jose A. Sanchez, a native of New York City, New York, enlisted with the US Navy in 1991 as a Seaman Recruit. Upon completion of Recruit Training, he attended Electrician’s Mate “A” School at Great Lakes, Illinois. In 1995, he attended Virginia Polytechnic and State University as a candidate for the Enlisted Commissioning Program.  He was commissioned in December 1997 after graduating with Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Mathematics and Economics.  Following flight school training and earning his wings of gold, LCDR Sanchez’ first assignment was with Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Four (HSL-44). He served as Detachment One maintenance officer and squadron assistant operations officer until May 2003. LCDR Sanchez then reported to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Zero (HSL-40), where he served as a fleet replacement flight instructor until January 2006.  After completing his tour, he reported to the USS JOHN F KENNEDY (CV-67) as the Air Operations Officer, where he served until the carrier decommissioned in July 2007. From 2007 to 2010, LCDR Sanchez assumed the duties as Officer in Charge of Navy Officer Recruiting Station Tampa. In 2010, he served as Air Operations Officer and Lead Planner for Commander Destroyer Squadron Two Six (CDS-26). 

Personal Details:

LCDR Sanchez is married to the former Tish Marguerite Huff. He has two sons, Tristan and Marcus; a toddler and a newborn, respectively. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5), Navy Good Conduct Medal and various campaign and unit commendations. He holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Doctorate in Business Administration through the University of Phoenix.
